BNC targets industry users of neutrons at automotive exhibition
The automotive industry provides more than 10% of the Hungarian GDP and is one of the largest export industries in the country. Seeing the potential industry collaboration opportunities, BNC, in the context of their participation in SINE2020, decided to participate with a booth and a range of conference workshop activities at the Automotive Exhibition, held on October 19-21 2016.
During a two-month period prior to the exhibition, BNC sent out almost 350 invitations to important stakeholders of the automotive industry. The invitation was also sent to scientists and research experts at BNC’s Institutes, and to several neutron scattering and synchrotron experts all over the European Neutron user community.
BNC participated with customised catalogues, flyers, banners, roll-up posters and brochures at the event, highlighting the benefits of neutrons in the automotive industry:
Besides the booth participation and communications materials, the following lectures were held during the conference:
- Neutrons for Technological Developments in Transport Industry, Dr. László Rosta – Wigner RCP of HAS - Budapest Neutron Centre - Hungary
- How can the SINE2020 project help R&D in the automotive sector? Dr. Caroline Boudou – ILL - Grenoble - France
- Element analysis and imaging with neutrons to solve engineering challenges, Dr. László Szentmiklósi – Budapest Neutron Centre – HAS-EK, Hungary
- Complementary use of Neutron, Synchrotron & X-ray diffraction for Material Science, Dr. Mirko Boin– Helmholtz Inst. - Berlin – Germany
The results of the conference included several scientific and technical consultations of companies, arrangement of visits to the reactor and invitation for BNC to join two automotive clusters.
