Rikke Nielsen
Rikke Nielsen is a Communications Consultant at the Danish Technological Institute and part of BrightnESS WP6. She has a Master’s degree in Corporate Communication from Aarhus School of Business. Before joining DTI, Rikke worked in a global engineering consultancy company.
- I started working at DTI just before BrightnESS commenced. I saw a job posting for a position working with Big Science and ESS in particular. Having worked with communication of knowledge-heavy topics before, I found the position interesting. My daily work includes finding the interesting stories within the BrightnESS project and conveying them through our communications channels such as the BrightnESS website, Twitter profile and other media.
Due to my role as communications consultant, I am in frequent contact with many of the partners and project participants, in activities such as assisting with events and conferences and interviewing them for the BrightnESS newsletter. I really like working with the many different partners and helping them achieve their different goals in the project.
In WP6, we target our communication to several target groups and have recently finished a framework for communicating towards future ESS users from industry. Communicating to industry is a different task for each of the Hubs in BrightnESS and I see one of the main challenges of WP6 to be promoting the use of neutron science in European industry in general.
