- I joined ESS and the BrightnESS team in November 2016. In BrightnESS, I am involved in Task 3.2, Capacity Building in Technology Transfer and in Task 6.3: Strengthening the ILO Network. Under Task 3.2, we are closely cooperating with Technical University of Denmark (DTU) team from the department for Innovation and Sector Development.
Currently, with DTU in the Task 3.2, we are organising a technology transfer conference, planned for 11th October titled “Establishing and Maintaining an Innovation Framework”, preparing the ground for the second technology transfer conference, which will take place in the first half of the upcoming year.
In addition, we are preparing the internal strategy for innovation at ESS, including recently finished ESS Policy for Innovation and preparing at the moment internal processes and procedures, which will be helping at ESS leveraging the scientific and technological opportunities arising from the design, construction and operation of ESS.
Within Task 6.3., we have regular contact with the individual national industrial liaison officers, while we are busy with preparation of the early September ESS Industrial Liaison Network Meeting.
Probably the most challenging task will be to coordinate all the innovation related activities, especially to set up the innovation management structure with the tight construction schedule
I believe that the Work Packages of BrightnESS are a great contribution to the main ESS project. The WPs are helping to develop several missing parts of infrastructure to help fully achieve all the goals of the future world's leading facility for research using neutrons.
