She also gave coaching sessions on EU funding at the Belgian Chamber of Commerce.
- I joined the ESS External Relations team on 1 March, to work specifically with grant administration and BrightnESS Work Package 1. As I am involved in the project management and coordination, I have a lot of administrative and financial work. At the moment, we are working on the Periodical Report for BrightnESS, making sure that the deliverables are delivered on time, mitigating risks on the project – the overall goal of our work is to make sure that the project is on track. My daily work also includes a lot of communication, as the interface between the partners and the commission.
I am looking forward to engaging the partners in the project and working with people from different nationalities, who are willing to work together to make ESS a success. In WP1, we bring in the pieces from all the partners, which is both exiting and a big challenge. I have much experience with working in EU projects, and I am very much looking forward to being part of BrightnESS.
My main challenge in the project is to make sure that the project is a success and that all the partners keep enjoying their work. The different WP’s in BrightnESS all have different goals, but the overall goal for us in WP1 is to make sure the project is delivered and gets the final check from the Commission.
BrightnESS and the ESS in general are ambitious projects and making them successful requires that everyone is on track and motivated throughout the project duration and after. While there are many specific milestones in the project, I think it is important to remember the overall vision as the infrastructure is the accumulation of all its inputs.
