First Big Science Business Forum held in Copenhagen
After a year of intensive planning, the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science along with BigScience.dk, successfully hosted the first ever Big Science Business Forum (BSBF), held in February 2018 in Copenhagen.
The three-day event brought together 18 of the world’s most advanced Big Science organisations to present upcoming investments and meet potential industrial suppliers. BSBF was opened by the Danish Minister of Higher Education and Science, Søren Pind and featured a keynote by the European Commissioner for research, science and innovation, Carlos Moedas.
Several participants from the BrightnESS hubs, such the Nordic, North-West, Central and Gallia hubs joined BSBF2018, many of them representing industry of their respective countries.
BSBF was a big success, with 1000 participants from 500 companies from 29 different countries participating. More than 700 business-to-business meetings were held, giving industrial suppliers the chance to present their services and products to the purchasing managers and technical staff at the facilities.
The event also enjoyed much media attention, especially due to an arranged press trip to the ESS construction site in Lund.
