User Meeting and workshop at Budapest Neutron Centre
The meeting included invited talks, users’ talks and a dedicated workshop. The programme also included a site visit. For user’s talks, the abstracts were received on various subjects related to material science, biological and battery systems. Users and beamline scientists discussed new beamline parameters (FSANS), new development possibilities and user requirements.
The workshop was dedicated to the vision for science, strengthening cooperation between science and the industry/private sector, with the title: Workshop on Exploring Future Opportunities in Science and Innovation at BNC. Invited speakers included: Henits Peter (Audi Hungary), M. V. Avdeev (FLNP JINR, Dubna) and Thomas Krist (HZ-Berlin). During the workshop, which were organized after the user’s lectures, several speakers presented their work, followed by a roundtable discussion.
In conclusion, the 25th BNC User Meeting was a very successful scientific event. Besides discussing science, the meeting also helped to bring participants from varied and diverse backgrounds together. The community is changing but not decreasing, and becoming more mature with time in terms of understanding the diverse applications of neutron research in their research and development work.
