BrightnESS General Assembly
The General Assembly Meeting, which took place in Lund on October 7, proved to be a success and received full endorsement of the General Assembly Members.
In a day-long meeting the Coordination Team and the Work Package Leaders presented the results of the first year of BrightnESS. From the 13 deliverables, only one is pending, six have been approved, three were submitted and are currently awaiting for the European Commission’s approval, another one is under review of the Steering Board and two are deferred to a later date as part of an amendment to the Grant Agreement. Regarding the project's milestones, the General Assembly Members noted that the project is on-target.
The General Assembly discussed the underspend in year 1, which was evident for every organisation. Work Package Leaders outlined how they would mitigate this over the next 2 years. The Coordinator stressed that the Partners should also check again if the work done for BrightnESS had been properly booked on the BrightnESS costs or if they were still provisionally booked under internal cost codes.
Next steps for the second year of BrightnESS include: (1) an amendment which will contain a number of small changes to the Grant Agreement, (2) the technical and Financial Report for which the coordination team will start the preparations as of this month and the (3) Mid-Term Review which will take place in the first quarter of next year.
