BrightnESS collaborates with a number of European projects that support the European neutron community as well as regional science and business opportunities.
SINE2020: Science and Innovation with Neutrons in Europe in 2020
SINE2020 is a consortium of 18 partner institutions from 12 countries, funded by the European Union through the H2020 programme. The project has two objectives: preparing Europe for the unique opportunities at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in 2020, and developing the innovation potential of neutron Large Scale Facilities (LSF’s).
Industry Consultancy initiative
The Industry Consultancy initiative of SINE2020 invites applications from Industry for the use of European neutron sources for test measurements or feasibility studies.

Interreg ESS & MAX IV: Cross Border Science and Society
ESS & MAX IV: Cross Border Science and Society is a Danish-Swedish-Norwegian project that aims to seize opportunities brought by the region through the construction of two world-class research facilities in Lund, Sweden: The European Spallation Source (ESS) and the MAX IV-laboratory, part of Lund University.
The project encompasses 27 partners in Denmark, Norway and Sweden and is divided in six different sub-projects: Cross Border Network and Research Programme, Cross Border Barriers, International Attractiveness, Welcoming International Talents, Regional Supply Base, and Strategic Platform

Baltic TRAM
The Baltic TRAM (Transnational Research Access in the Macroregion) project seeks to strengthen the relationship between analytical research institutions and business, by establishing structures for cooperation between companies and researchers and linking expertise to concrete industrial needs. Baltic TRAM builds on the findings of the previous project Science Link.
Baltic TRAM is part of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region, an EU-funding programme that facilitates transnational cooperation in the Baltic Sea region.
NordForsk: Nordic Neutron Science Programme
The programme’s objectives are to increase the number of Nordic-region researchers skilled at utilising neutrons in scientific analysis, as well as raise the competency level regarding neutron scattering, particularly among younger researchers and other groups without extensive experience in this field. The new programme is designed to support long-term use of the European Spallation Source (ESS) among the Nordic countries.
