In-Kind Process Overview
The following text will briefly lay out the In-Kind Process. Although the process itself is fairly complicated, some essential steps can be quickly summarized.
The In-Kind process begins with a partner expressing their interest (EOI) for collaborating with ESS. After a careful evaluation of EOI responses, the Project team makes a decision. Selected partner starts negotiating with ESS. Next, an agreement is signed between the parties defining milestones and deliverables both parties have agreed to.
The In-Kind process then moves into the next phase – Implementation. Here, partners work on delivering the contracted components and/or services. Frequent meetings and communication are the key element of having a successful and fruitful collaboration between both parties. In case of any unforeseen changes to the agreement, a change control process might take place, offering both parties a formalized way of assessing alterations to previously signed agreement.
Once finished, the In-Kind collaboration moves to its final phase. Here, ESS evaluates the performance of the IKC collaboration. The evaluation process is to be supported and recommended by the In-Kind Review Committee. After the formal approval, the related member country is notified of the approved IKC value and status.
