Spanish Neutron Users Society Meeting in Bilbao

The meeting was arranged by ESS Bilbao, the neutron technology centre managing the Spanish In-Kind contributions to ESS, and by BC Materials, a research centre that covers all aspects of research in functional materials with advanced electric, magnetic and optical properties from basic aspects to applications.

Allen Weeks, Head of Communications, External Relations and In-Kind Coordination at ESS presented a talk on ‘Collaboration Management at the European Spallation Source ERIC Project’. During the talk, Weeks discussed the complexity of mobilising knowledge to build such a large research infrastructure as the ESS. Work Package 2 of BrightnESS (Strengthening In-Kind Contribution and Coordination) seeks to solve this challenge.  

The event gathered around 80 people, and was the eighth edition of a series of biannual meetings started in 2002. In addition, SETN serves as the main discussion forum for the Spanish user community on neutron scattering.
