ESS Hosts Dutch Ambassadors to Sweden and Denmark
The Director General of ESS, James H. Yeck, and the Chairman of Council of the European Spallation Source ERIC, Lars Börjesson, briefed the delegation about the status of the ESS project, organisational governance, and collaboration between ESS and the Netherlands - one of Founding Observers of European Spallation Source ERIC.
The session of presentations was followed by an open discussion, which focused on the Dutch Research Infrastructure Roadmap Process and the related application submitted to The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) in December last year by Delft University of Technology and its partners, i.e. Eindhoven University of Technology, Groningen University, and Wageningen University.
Delft University of Technology was actively involved in the pre-construction phase of ESS in the framework of its Oyster Program. The collaboration established between ESS and the Netherlands has yields benefits on both sides. ESS will be instrumental in addressing at least nine routes recently defined in the Dutch National Research Agenda.
The visit of the Dutch Ambassadors to ESS ended with a walking tour of the construction site.
