MS33: Event data software test
This milestone has been achieved. The Event Formation Unit (EFU) pipeline prototype is intended to be a general framework for acquiring raw detector data transferred as UDP packets, converting the data into neutron events (position and time of neutron hit) and forwarding the neutron events to a Kafka Broker. Besides this main data path, the EFU pipeline connects to various tools to monitor the system. A C++ version of the EFU pipeline with EFU for the Multi-Blade detector has been developed. It has been tested and passed all tests. The speed has been evaluated and further studies will show what number of processor cores are needed for a full Multi-Blade detector with 9 blades and what amount of code optimization for speed can be achieved.
