The first virtual meeting of newly assigned ESS Internal Innovation Board

On December 7, 2020, the ESS Internal Innovation Board met for the first time. Following a general introduction, the question was asked: What is Innovation to you and how can we define it? To home in on an answer, the innovation DNA at ESS was discussed and with representatives from Human Resources, Communication, Technology, Project and Science, there were some excellent views and arguments. Diversity is fuel for innovation and there is plenty of both at ESS, the board members concluded.

The Internal Innovation Board (IIB) members received an update from Head of Innovation & Industry - Jimmy Binderup Andersen, on the status of the ESS Innovation and the latest developments. Many interesting points were raised about the need for maturing and promoting innovation culture and core values within the whole organization. Then Sarah Salman, within the Innovation & Industry team, presented a business case model and discussed innovation tech transfer opportunities at ESS. Finally, the future plans on how to engage further with both internal and external stakeholders were presented.

The meeting ended on a positive note on the excellent innovation opportunities at ESS, and the Board members look forward to support new innovation activities in the future. The Innovation and Industry team is delighted with the very promising outlook for the ESS Internal Innovation Board and look forward to the collaboration.
