Work Package 3: In-kind contribution management

Work Package 3 will build on the successful network of Field Coordinators and their associated Hubs. It will further develop their usefulness and allow them to support the partners’ in-kind work as they in turn transition from contracting and design activities, through manufacture and into installation and commissioning. The need for an excellent channel of communication between the partners and ESS will become even greater during this phase of the project that it was earlier. Increasing amounts of information will need to be transferred, both around quality assurance (QA) documentation and around the huge logistical challenges of getting the thousands of contributions to ESS and integrated into a fully functioning whole. During this process WP3 will build on the success of the XRM+, a centralised software platform that has been developed under BrightnESS to track progress on the in-kind work.  All of this will allow the Field Coordinators from BrightnESS² to contribute at world level on the vital business of collaborative working, as projects are increasingly taken up in international partnerships.
