Work Package 5: International outreach, community engagement and dissemination for impact

Work Package 5 aims to establish ESS as a truly global research infrastructure with an impact in and outside Europe via strategic dissemination activities targeting the experts’ community as well as the society at large. All the key stakeholders will be involved in these activities. The specific objectives of WP5 are to:

• Ensure bottom-up and top-down outreach and engagement of stakeholders;
• Gain support for ESS in countries which are not yet represented in the membership base of ESS, and strengthen the position of ESS as a global research infrastructure;
• Introduce a systematic routine within the organisation to measure socio-economic impact on annual basis, and propagate relevant metrics and approach to societal impact measurement to the international community;
• Disseminate BrightnESS² project results and impact of ESS in a clear and effective way that takes into consideration the specific needs of various target groups, including scientists, academics, industry, stakeholders, decision makers, media, general public etc.;
• Promote and support the organisation of events such as conferences, workshops, seminars, trainings and other meetings anticipated in all WPs.
