LENS launches activities to strengthen European neutron science

LENS initiative.
Members of a strategic consortium of neutron research facilities in Europe, the League of advanced European Neutron Sources (LENS), officially launched activities to promote collaboration on neutron usage, technology development, innovation, data, education, and strategies. By aligning policies among its partners, LENS will advocate for the user community and strengthen European neutron science.

The group of in-kind Field Coordinators from Partner Institutes collaborating with ESS held their first meeting under BrightnESS² on 21 February 2019. The aim of the workshop was to formally kick-off activities planned within the project.

Promoting future scientific opportunities at ESS among the academic community in Singapore

International collaborations.
ESS Director for Science, Andreas Schreyer, travelled to Singapore to discuss future collaborations and to give a seminar to the academic community and students of one of the world’s largest materials engineering institutions – the School of Materials Science and Engineering at the Nanyang Technological University. He also held meetings with representatives of the National Research Foundation under the Prime Minister’s Office Singapore, and the Singapore Synchrotron Light Source.

BrightnESS² kicks-off to bring together a sustainable European neutron ecosystem

Research organisations and facilities from 11 different countries have jointly set off on a three year journey to strengthen neutron scattering in Europe and create an ecosystem for sustainable science with ESS. They will work towards this goal under the banner of BrightnESS², a project funded by Horizon 2020.
