Ute Gunsenheimer
Ute Gunsenheimer joined ESS in November 2012 and is the Head of the External Relations and EU Projects Group. She is in charge of managing all stakeholder, partner and industry relations at ESS, including the communication with the corresponding ministries in the ESS Partner Countries. This includes communication with key scientific players, national business associations or chambers of commerce, European wide organisations and networks, such as HEPTech, and the ESS Industrial Liaison Office Network (ILO) along with specialised media. Currently, she leads the Collaboration, Communication and Dissemination Work Package in the Horizon 2020 funded BrightnESS project designed to gain trust of future users from science and industry by means of expanding the ESS community and network. She is ESS representative at the ERIC FORUM. Ms. Gunsenheimer has more than 15 years of experience in managing EU wide communication activities on behalf of EU institutions. Prior to joining ESS, she was Managing Director of a Berlin based international communications agency, Media Consulta International Holding AG, with the European Commission being its key account.
In BrightnESS², Ute is the Work Package Leader for WP5, which implements effective outreach and stakeholder engagement, as the two are closely linked not only to impactful communication and dissemination, and event organisation, but also to long-term socio-economic impact of the facility, and enlargement activities, which further relate to the international character of ESS.
