Kell Mortensen
Kell Mortensen is the Head of X-ray and Neutron Science Section at the Niels Bohr Institute of the University of Copenhagen. His research focus is on soft matter and polymer sciences, using small-angle scattering methods, often combined with rheology. Kell is the head of the Danish Neutron Scattering Association (DANSSK) with about 150 members. Kell also serves as the Vice Chair of DANSCATT, which is the joint association of synchrotron x-ray and neutron users. DANSCATT acts as the link to government and officials, and formal link to international facilities. In 2019, Kell received the prestigious Walter Hälg Prize awarded biennially by the European Neutron Scattering Association (ENSA) for outstanding work in neutron scattering applications with long-term scientific or technical impact.
