Dániel Merkel
Dániel Merkel started his career at the Research Institute for Particle and Nuclear Physics in Hungary, where he became acquainted with thin film technologies, neutron optics and magnetism. During his studies, he participated in the installation of GINA polarised neutron reflectometer at the Budapest Neutron Centre. After obtaining his PhD degree, he moved to Grenoble to work on the Nuclear Resonance Beamline at European Synchrotron Radiation Facility. He was involved in numerous scientific projects and worked together with researchers from all over the world. In 2016 he moved back to Hungary to start his own research group at Wigner Research Centre for Physics and work in the field of functional nanostructures.
Dániel is participating in BrightnESS² Work Package 2, focusing on the Hungarian neutron strategy within the frame of the European neutron science.
